Christian Saulsberry was a great athlete since he was a small boy. He excelled in every sport he played, especially football. Christian had standout careers at Southaven High, Northpoint Christian, Ittawamba Community College, and West Alabama. He also fulfilled his childhood dream of playing Professional football in the FCF and currently with the Edmonton Elks in the Canadian Football League. His hard work, desire and refusal to give up on his dream led him to Edmonton where he recently signed a 3 yr contract.

While football was big part of his life, it did not define the young man he was.. He was loved by so many and touch so many lives in so many different ways. Christian was a loving, compassionate young man who made everyone around him better. Whether a teammate, friend, son, brother or uncle, you were better because of Christian’s influence on your life. Christian’s personality was larger than life but he was grounded and humbled due to how he was raised. His smile lit up a room the minute he walked in the door.

Christian Saulsberry was taken from all who loved him by a senseless act of violence that will change us all forever. So with permission of his Mom, Melissa Saulsberry-Smith, who he loved and adored so much, and his family, we are starting a go fund me in Christian’s memory. ALL proceeds will go to the family to be used toward funeral, burial and any travel expenses they may have. ALL additional monies not used towards those funeral expenses will go to the formation of the “Christian Saulsberry Foundation ”. Vince, Melissa and the family are setting up this nonprofit Foundation to help other small college student athletes fulfill their dream of becoming professional athletes much like Christian. It will help pay out of pocket expenses for small school athletes attend camps, combines or other events.

Christian will be missed. All of us that knew and loved him will continue to carry on his legacy.   - Mark Hardin
